The diamond-shaped Taper Dowel is an engineered load transfer system for horizontal movement in concrete floors.

The Taper Dowel set includes a plastic void sleeve and dowel plate. The sleeve is nailed to the edge form before concrete placement. After the forms are removed, the dowel plate is inserted in each sleeve in preparation for the adjoining slab.

A properly installed Taper Dowel minimizes joint spalling, eliminates tripping hazards and improves joint filler appearance.

The Taper Dowel is recommended for joints up to 3/4” wide and is suitable for all types of ground level concrete floors, slabs or pavements:

  • A unique plastic sleeve and steel plate, used in combination, creates an engineered load transfer doweling system for concrete flatwork.
  • The flat diamond-shape provides maximum surface bearing, bending and punching resistance, without the slab interlock risk common with other methods.
  • Acceptable method in accordance with ACI 302.1R Guide for Concrete Floor and Slab Construction and ACI 360 Design of Slabs-on-Ground.

Be sure to contact SureBuilt for more information about the Taper Dowel and other new doweling products.

SureBuilt – SureCurve RC Forming System

Concrete tanks and curved walls quickly take shape with the new SureCurve™ RC forming system!

Each SureCurve panel has a series of turnbuckles that flex the form to a desired radius. Panels can then be joined and stacked to create large gangs.

The large SureCurve gangs are assembled with a lever-action connecting clamp. This reduces assembly time and simplifies any reconfiguration.

The connecting clamp, in combination with three interior and exterior panel sizes, can be used to form a radius as small as 10’.

SureBuilt Post-Shores

Don’t take chances with 4×4 lumber shores of unknown capacity. And don’t waste time placing more 4×4 lumber shores than needed “just to be safe.” Post Shores are designed and tested for shoring applications. Project layouts and spacings become more efficient based on engineering data, rather than field guesswork.

SureBuilt Concrete Hoppers

Concrete Hoppers are precision-molded to create a sturdy and easy-to-clean funnel shape. The standard design is lightweight and easy-to-handle. The heavy-duty design is reinforced with a steel frame. Concrete Hoppers can be combined with tremie pipes, collars, elephant trunk and clamps to help with almost any concrete pour.

butt plate walers

Butt Plate Walers, bolted together end-to-end, are used to support this large wood beam gang.

SureBuilt Double Channel Steel Walers

Contractors own lots of different forming equipment, but they don’t always own enough Walers… the one thing that can really maximize forming productivity!

Walers are used to align panels, carry taper tie loads and maximize the surface area of each gang. Depending on the type of panel and contractor preference, there are several waler alternatives.

SureBuilt Stud Rail Project

We’ve just landed the largest Stud Rail project in SureBuilt history. For more information on the NYC Stud Rails and other products, please contact our area representative, Bob Edwards, Construction Innovations Co., by email: or cell: 518-365-1202. The $1.5 billion expansion of the Jacob K. Javits Center in Manhattan is underway and the columns will be reinforced with SureBuilt Stud Rails.

Stay on Schedule with SureBuilt Stud Rails! Stud Rail, a double-headed stud anchor (DSA) reinforcement system, is typically used for concrete deck-to-column connections.

This product is designed to create a larger shear area around each column of a building , transfer the load into the concrete deck, and resist punching shear forces. Using the Stud Rail system can often eliminate the need for column capitals or drop heads. This provides significant savings, since these column details are difficult to form and place.

Tilt-Up Show Demo Panel

We’re back home after the TCA 2018 International Tilt-Up Convention and Expo. And we’re still excited about the demonstration panel featuring SureBuilt tilt-up products.

The panel contained all the SureBuilt items you would find on a successful tilt-up project, including ProLift Inserts, Brace Inserts, Pipe Braces, HGA Brackets, Lifting Clutches, Slant Anchors, and more!

It even had something you didn’t see… the new SureBuilt Engineering Services, now supporting tilt-up projects throughout North America.

Tilting Things in Your Favor!

We’re in Dallas right now for the 2018 International Tilt-Up Convention and Expo. Be sure to stop by the SureBuilt exhibit, booth #203, to see the new Tilt-Up Animation video we’ve created to demonstrate our product line.

Even if you can’t attend the show, you can still watch the video with this link.

And don’t forget to ask about SureBuilt Engineering Services. We’re helping tilt-up contractors throughout North America with all the details, including:
