And Some Other Grate Stuff!

If you’re supplying concrete forms to construction sites with foundations, then why not provide the wells, ladders, grates and bucks, too?

Since egress requirements for below-grade escapes differ by region, SureBuilt can manufacture different shapes and sizes to be in compliance with local regulations. Round, square, stiff and typical arc shapes are available.

Window Wells

  • Made of heavy-duty 18-gauge USA steel
  • Corrugated for unique strength and durability
  • Galvanized on backfill side to resist corrosion
  • Good appearance, white finish on interior wall

Egress Escape Ladders

The heavy-duty design provides entry down into the well or exit from below grade living spaces. Heights include 4-Rung (48″), 5-Rung (60″), 6-Rung (72″) and 7-Rung (84″). Ladders can be painted in one of 12 color options.

Steel Grates

Stay on the safe side with Rebar Grates – made of angle iron that’s been rolled to match the well shape, and welded #3 safety bars capable of supporting over 400 lbs. Or choose the Mesh Grates to keep small debris from accumulating in the well. Grates can be painted in one of 12 color options.

Window Bucks

Window Bucks create the opening in the foundation wall. Once the concrete wall has been poured, the forms are disassembled and a window is installed in the frame created by the buck.

Check the Window Well brochure or Price List for common sizes. Become familiar with your local building codes, then contact us or request a quote.

Need a Way Out?!

Do the building codes in your area require residential basements to have an escape window? If the answer is yes, then you should be supplying the contractors in your area with SureBuilt window wells and accessories.

Window Wells allow air, sunlight and access to a basement or below-grade space by acting as a barrier to the surrounding backfill. Each corrugated well is made using 18-gauge galvanized steel for durability and corrosion resistance. The top and bottom edges are formed and rolled over to eliminate sharp edges and support a person standing on a ladder or grate.

HD Egress Ladders are designed for emergency situations. The ladder can be used to escape from the basement or as an access option for emergency personnel. The hooked ends of the ladder hang over the rim, supporting the ladder inside the well. IRC code requires ladders in wells deeper than 44”. The HD Egress Ladders are available in 4’, 5’ and 6’ heights.

Grates keep people and objects from falling into the well. The grate is made of rolled angle iron steel, and welded steel safety bars. Premium mesh grates are also available to keep leaves and other debris out of the well.

Bucks are positioned and braced in the forms before the concrete is poured. Each buck has four built-in form tie slots. A basement window is installed in the opening created by the window buck.
