Birch Plywood Data Sheet
Birch Plywood
Better plywood, better performance… better forming!
The best concrete appearance comes from using the best form face. That’s why we’ve chosen birch plywood as the standard SureBuilt form face.
Using 100% birch plywood provides exceptional performance and appearance, including:
• The birch wood has a tight grain structure, exhibiting greater strength than fir plywood, while resisting moisture absorption.
• The multi-ply manufacturing process provides strength and uniform flatness by using long and short grain directional veneers.
• The top two layers of each face are inspected, patched and smoothed, eliminating surface degradation from underlying veneer collapse.
• The 220/220 phenolic overlay, both front and back, prevents moisture absorption, eliminates grain transfer, and extends useful life.
• The exposed plywood edges of cut-to-size pieces are spray sealed after sawing to minimize water penetration and absorption.
Of course, all forming systems and job-built gangs should be treated with form release before concrete placement to maximize form life and reduce cleaning.
Long-lasting 1/2” birch plywood is the standard form face for SurePly panels and fillers.
