Gimme a Break!
Reduce Indoor/Outdoor Heat Transfer of Concrete Balconies
The Thermal Break design combines high-density foam, with low conductivity concrete, to break the temperature transfer. This combination reduces energy demand by up to 15% without compromising structural integrity of the concrete balcony.
In conventional building construction, the concrete balcony is simply an extension of the inside floor. The concrete slab passes any temperature change through the floor into the interior space, resulting in energy loss and uncomfortable living conditions.
The Thermal Break design provides the following advantages:
Pre-assembled Lengths
The Thermal Break arrives ready-to-install for typical concrete-to-concrete balcony connections.
Structural Integrity
A combination of GFRP Rebar and concrete blocks provides the tensile and compressive strength.
Shear Strength
Concrete protrusions on each side of the Thermal Break transfer the shear forces to the internal slab.
Thermal Efficiency
The 75% insulating foam and 25% low conductivity nearly eliminates condensation and mold growth.
