Pencil Rod Data Sheet
Pencil Rod
A forming solution for changing dimensions where fixed
length ties are not practical
Rod Clamps are used with 1/4″ Pencil Rod to tie
lumber forming units together. The rod is “pinched” by
a set screw or clamp at both ends. Rod Clamps have
nail holes for waler attachment.
Pencil Rod is most commonly used in battered walls
and foundation mats with changing dimensions.
Pencil Rod is a simple forming solution when surface
appearance and clean breakback are not essential.
Pencil Rod and Rod Clamps ties formwork together
and holds it securely during concrete placement.
Pencil Rod is available in a continuous coil of 600
feet or a bundle of 500 feet cut in 20′ lengths.
