Heavy Duty Bridge Overhang Bracket Data Sheet

Heavy Duty Bridge Overhang Brackets

Adjustable overhang deck support for structural steel

and precast concrete beams

These brackets can be used with an appropriate

3/4” exterior hanger, such as the Type 9-A and

9-AB. Heavy Duty Bridge Overhang Brackets

are fabricated with nail holes in the top of the

horizontal member for securing the required

lumber nailer to the bracket.

A guard rail receptacle, which allows for attaching

a 2” x 4” guard rail post, is built into the outboard

end of the bracket’s horizontal member. The brack-

et can be easily and quickly preset on the ground

and then set in place as needed. An outboard ad-

justment nut controls the vertical movement of the

outboard end of the bracket to accommodate set-

ting the overhang formwork to final grade.

Overhang Brackets are usually adjusted to the

proper grade during the normal “dry run” opera-

tion. Typically, the overhang forms are set 1/4” to

3/8” above finished grade to compensate for dead

load deflection. The Heavy Duty Bridge Overhang

Bracket is designed for maximum adjustment and

strength to meet the varied overhang forming re-

quirements of the various State D.O.T.

* Vertical adjustment in 2” increments

** Safe Working Load (SWL) based on 2:1 safety factor of axial load in diagonal leg.

Made in the USA available

SAFETY NOTE:

DO NOT attempt an upward adjustment of the

bracket during the concrete pouring opera-

tion. DO NOT lower the bracket during the

concrete pour.
