EcoForm
EcoForm
Durable, engineered, stay-in-place formwork system
EcoForm delivers unmatched durability and
performance, featuring robust 9-gauge main wires
spaced at 6-inch centers and cross wires at 3-inch
centers for optimal structural integrity.
Proudly manufactured in the USA from premium
cold-drawn mild steel, it offers unparalleled
strength that endures the toughest conditions.
Fully compliant with U.S. standards and
electronically welded at every intersection for
maximum reinforcement, the steel mesh is
sealed in two layers of UV-stabilized film to resist
degradation and ensure exceptional, long-lasting
quality.

Preparing for Delivery
•
•
Delivery Space – Designate a clear area for unloading
and storing EcoForm panels. Panels arrive wrapped
on pallets.
Unloading – Use a telescopic handler or adequate
manpower to remove panels from the truck safely.
Tools Required
Gloves
Wire Ties
If provided, refer to detailed CAD color-coded drawings to labeled keyed pieces
to ensure quick set up.
Box Cutters
Optional: box
knife and angle
grinder for cut-
ting panelsInstallation Steps
1. Placement
•
Use the provided job map to identify panel positions and
quantities.
•
Check the packing slip to conform all pieces are present.
•
Ensure trenches are fully excavated, level, and ready to
receive EcoForm as specified by the engineer.
2. Squaring and Alignment
•
EcoForm panels are bent at 90o for easy alignment.
•
Use strings lines and the 3-4-5 method for squaring.
•
Refer to CAD drawings if provided.
3. Lightweight Handling
•
Panels are 7.5 ft long and light enough for one person to
carry multiple sheets at a time.
4. Cutting Panels
•
Mark the cut line.
•
Cut the polyethylene membrane with a box knife.
•
Remove mesh sections using bolt cutters or an angle
grinder.Installation Steps
5. Intersections
•
Mark and cut where panels intersect.
•
Fold back edges to 90o, overlap by 6 inches, and tie
securely.
6. Making Bends
•
Mark the area that needs to be cut and bent.
•
Cut out the bottom connection to the bend point.
•
On the vertical bend point alternate cutting the horizontal
mesh wire for easier bending.
•
Bend piece to desired shape.
7. Corners
•
Butt inside sections together.
•
Place corner section on the outside edge and tie.
•
For U-shape or L-shape corners, cut and connect as
needed.
4. Step-Down Footings
•
Cut out end cap to the height of drop down.
•
Overlap top and bottom piece to the depth of drop down.
•
Cut and bend down bottom panel of top piece and con-
nect to bottom piece.
•
Attach end piece to the end of to piece and connect it to
the top of the bottom piece.
•
Add supports where needed.Form Supports
Backfilling
Use soft backfill around EcoForm trenches, leaving
about 2” from the panel. Ensure rebar and spacers
are installed before backfilling.
Beam Bolsters
Attach to EcoForm (internally or externally) to ensure
straight foundations and minimize concrete waste.
Hard Earth Trenches
If trenches are cut to the width of EcoForm, panels
can slide in like a sleeve. In this case, the trench
itself provides sleeve.
Above-Ground Applications
Metal Pins: If using metal pins, it is recommended
to place them every 12-18” to hold panels in place.
Walers and 2x4s: If using walers and wooden 2x4s,
position them securely to provide continuous support.
Rebar Placement
Maintain a 3” gap between rebar and EcoForm un-
less local code specifies otherwise.Concrete Pour
Pouring in Stages
Helps maintain straight forms and reduce lateral pressure.
Screeding
If trenches are uneven, leave a lip of EcoForm above con-
crete for easier screeding; trim after curing.
Deep Trenches
Continuous beam bolsters support (can be wood 2x4s, metal
pins, or beam bolsters) along the top edge are recommend-
ed if EcoForm is not backfilled.
Quick Reference Checklist
1. Level terrain and prepare trenches.
2. Place EcoForm panels per job map.
3. Overlap panels by 6” and wire tie.
4. Add rebar before backfilling.
5. Cut and bend panels as needed for corners and step-downs.
6. Secure panels with support.
7. Pour concrete in stages and screed to desired level.Form Supports
