An engineered load transfer system for horizontal movement in concrete slabs
The size and pointed shape of the Taper Dowel provides joint stability, load transfer and smooth transition, without restraining concrete floor movement.
A properly installed tapered dowel will minimize joint spalling, eliminate tripping hazards, provide surface continuity, and improve joint filler appearance.
The Taper Dowel is recommended for joints up to 3/4” wide and is suitable for all types of ground level concrete slabs, such as jointed floors, flatwork and pavement.
- A unique plastic sleeve and structural steel plate, used in combination, to create an engineered load transfer dowel system for concrete flatwork.
- The plastic sleeve fastens quickly to edge forms before concrete placement and the steel plate slides into the sleeve opening in preparation for the adjoining slab.
- The flat dowel shape provides maximum surface bearing, bending and punching resistance, without the slab interlock risk common with other doweling methods.
- An acceptable doweling method in accordance with ACI 302.1R Guide for Concrete Floor and Slab Construction and ACI 360 Design of Slabs-on-Ground.
U.S. Taper Dowels at Competitive Prices
We’re constantly hearing that the U.S. manufacturers simply can’t compete on Taper Dowels & accessories, and that foreign imports, which are often subsidized by their governments, are putting every last one of us out of business, but we refuse to bow to that notion. We’re very close to foreign import prices, and it has taken some serious work to accomplish this feat. We’ve had to work harder, think smarter, and become more efficient. Give us a chance to bid on your project.
