SureFlex CJ-Guard
Water-based, Control Joint Filler Stain Protectant
Description
SureFlex CJ-Guard is a water-based blend of film-forming polymers that prevents or reduces staining of concrete due overfill of epoxy or polyurea joint fillers. When applied to the concrete adjacent to floor joints prior to filling, SureFlex CJ-Guard dries to form a clear, protective film that seals and protects the surface. After joint filling and shaving, SureFlex CJ-Guard is easily removed with water. SureFlex CJ-Guard also facilitates shaving operations allowing a faster, less labor-intensive operation. SureFlex CJ-Guard can be used to protect conventional concrete, polished colored concrete, stained concrete, and other porous surfaces.

Application
Agitate before each use.
APPLICATION RATE:
Always apply SureFlex CJ-Guard before joint cleaning operations.Application rate will vary depending upon the texture and porosity of the concrete, the type of joint filler used, and the width of film applied. One coat is normally adequate, but a second coat may be required if the concrete is extremely rough or porous.
A test application is recommended to determine the required coverage rate. Approximate coverage rate per gallon is 650-800 sq-ft per gallon or

Apply SureFlex CJ-Guard only to joints that will be filled the same day.
Allow SureFlex CJ-Guard to dry completely before installation of joint filler.
After joint filler overfill has been shaved, remove the SureFlex CJ-Guard film by first saturating with water and allowing to soak for 5 mins, then scrubbing off the remaining residue.
Ambient and concrete temperature must be between 40oF to 90oF (4oC to 32oC).

CAUTION: Do not allow SureFlex CJ-Guard to get into the joint and side walls or the film will compromise the adhesion of the joint filler.
If the joint filler is heated to facilitate shaving, the exposed SureFlex CJ-Guard film may flake or deteriorate or come off during shaving. Simply saturate the remainder with water, allow to dissolve for 5 minutes, then scrape up, mop up or remove with scrubber.

Shelf Life
Containers are to be sealed and stored in a clean, dry area between 40-90oF (4-32oC). Keep from freezing. Shelf-life in original tightly closed container is 1-year from the date of manufacture.

Limitations / Precautions

• The performance of SureFlex CJ-Guard is dependent on the texture and porosity of the concrete and the type of joint filler used.
• A test section is strongly recommended to determine the thickness of SureFlex CJ-Guard film required, and to estimate the overall
effectiveness of the product given the site conditions.
